Requirement
In accordance with Reg. 33 of Waterworks Regulations , any person who holds the following 2 parts of qualifications may apply for a new Grade I Plumber's Licence:-
Part I
A Craft Certificate in Plumbing and Pipefitting issued by the Vocational Training Council after 1987 (the obtain date of which is within 5 years before the date of application); or an equivalent qualification.
Part II
A Certificate in Plumbing Services (Hong Kong) issued by the Vocational Training Council (the obtain date of which is within 5 years before the date of application).
Issue of new Grade II plumbers' licence has been ceased since 2 October 1993
Procedure
Application for Plumber's licence can be made by the following means:
Online application
The applicant can apply for a Plumber's Licence by means of Electronic Services. You will be notified to collect your plumber's licence in person at our Customer Enquiry Centre by email upon successful application.
In person
The applicant can also attend in person at Wan Chai or Tai Kok Tsui Customer Enquiry Centre bringing along with:
- duly completed, signed on and submit Waterworks form WWO 495 ;
- Hong Kong Identity Card or Passport,
- the original and a photocopy of the qualifications if you have applied with the Plumbing Craft Certificate issued by the City and Guilds of London,
- 2 recent photos (size 25mm (1") W x 38mm (1-1/2") H), one of which is securely fixed on the WWO 495 ,
and paying licence fee of $105 at any post office, 7-Eleven Convenience Store, Circle K Convenience Store or U select.
