Application for Meter Test

If you doubt the accuracy of the water meter, you may apply for a meter test. For a meter test, you need to complete an application Form WWO 1155 and return it to us either in person, by post, by email or by fax

Alternatively, you can directly make meter test appointment via our electronic services delivered in our website.  The WSD will issue letters inviting your attendance to remove the water meter and to witness the meter test.

According to Waterworks Regulations, a meter shall be deemed to register correctly if its inaccuracy does not exceed 3% above or below the correct amount. If the meter is found to be accurate, the water and sewage charges will not be adjusted and you are required to pay the meter test fee. The amount of the meter test fee depends on the size of the meter to be tested, but for most meters, the fee is $810. If the meter is found to be defective, the water and sewage charges will be adjusted. The replaced meter, whether subsequently found to be accurate or not in the meter test, will not be re-installed to the same premises.

Application forms for meter test are obtainable either in any of our Customer Enquiry Centres or through our website.
