Greater Bay Area Water Forum cum Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Water Supply Seminar held in Hong Kong and Shenzhen simultaneously

The 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Water Forum cum the 14th Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Water Supply Seminar, co-organised by the Water Supplies Department (WSD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Shenzhen Water and Environment Group Company Limited, was held from 16 to 18 November 2022.

The main forum of the event was held on 17 November at the Hong Kong Palace Museum and Crowne Plaza Shenzhen Longgang City Centre simultaneously with live streaming.  Over 500 representatives of 11 water supply organisations in the area participated in the main forum of the event.  The forum, with the theme of “Precious Water, We Share; Smart Water, We Aspire”, is one of the celebration events for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

At the opening ceremony, the Director of Water Supplies, Mr Kelvin Lo, said that water authorities should take forward the planning and management initiatives with a view to achieving sustainable water resources under the increasing demand due to population growth and climate change. Mr Lo also encouraged his counterparts to make more efficient and sustainable use of water resources with innovative technology so that our future generations can enjoy these precious resources.

An exhibition zone was set up by WSD to showcase the Department’s application of advanced technology in water supply work.
