Water Supplies Department Joins "Eco Expo Asia 2025"

The Water Supplies Department (WSD) set up an exhibition booth at the “Eco Expo Asia 2025”, which was held from 28 to 31 October 2025, to introduce the latest development of Smart Trunk Transfer Support System (STTSS) to the business sector and members of the public.  To respond to challenges posed by climate change, energy consumption, and infrastructure maintenance, STTSS enhances system efficiency and reduces operational costs through intelligent pump scheduling and operation.  By integrating variable frequency pump technology, STTSS is expected to generate energy cost savings of approximately HK$30 million, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 18,000 tons, and achieve an energy saving of 9% per year.  These achievements not only strengthen the reliability and efficiency of the water supply system but also lay a robust foundation for the sustainability and resilience of future water management in Hong Kong.
