The Hong Kong Observatory organized the “Science in the Public Service 2018” with various government departments and other organizations to promote their scientific work and application of technology to the provision of services for the general public through different kinds of activities.
On 7 and 15 November 2018, the Water Supplies Department arranged 3 guided tours to the Ngau Tam Mei Water Treatment Works and Ma On Shan Water Treatment Works. These activities attracted about 150 participants. Through the introduction of the operation of the water treatment works, the visitors learned about the water treatment process and the water quality monitoring measures.
