  Principal Functions and Duties :

  • Appointment in departmental grades including recruitment and promotion
  • Intake of common and general grades staff and in-service appointments
  • Appointment matters on all staff including renewal of agreement, revision of terms of appointment, retirement, re-employment/extension of service
  • Performance appraisal system
  • Records management concerning personnel and classified files

  • Establishment matters including creation, deletion and redeployment of posts

  • Dealing with issues relating to pay, grade structure and conditions of service
  • Providing personnel services including leave and passages, allowances, training, quarters, etc.
  • Staff management matters including conduct, discipline and complaint cases
  • Management of clerical and secretarial grades
