Hong Kong Water Supply Heritage and Oral History Collection Programme

The Water Supplies Department is planning to establish a new water resources education centre in Tin Shui Wai, Yuen Long. The education centre aims to insightfully introduce the water supply history and development in Hong Kong, as well as the related water science, technology, engineering and management knowledge with a view to promoting public understanding and awareness of water conservation, new water sources and the importance of water saving practices in everyday life.

To help develop and enrich the content of the education centre, WSD is now organising the Hong Kong Water Supply Heritage and Oral History Collection Programme to encourage the support and participation of members of the public through offering objects and records relating to Hong Kong's water supply history. Items collected will be displayed in the education centre if they can fit into the storyline of the exhibition.

Under the Programme, WSD would like to collect items relating to the water supply history in Hong Kong including photos, recordings, videos, films, artefacts and documents, etc., as well as interested persons' own oral history recordings. The Programme will last until 31 August 2017 (Thursday).
