A licensed plumber is a person licensed
under the Waterworks Regulation to carry out various types of authorized
plumbing work connected with the supply of water to domestic,
commercial and industrial buildings.
It is an offence for any person other
than a licensed plumber to carry out installation or
modification of water services in a building.
If you require any plumbing work such as:
- Installing a new or separate water meter;
- Installing a water-using appliance
such as a washing machine, or a fitment, such as a
water tank or a bath, or any part of a flushing system;
- Installing or removing taps and piping;
- Installing or removing fire services
or making repairs to them.
You must always employ
a licensed plumber to avoid disappointment and delay
and to keep within the law. The licensed plumber is
available in Licensed Plumber Directory (ESD Application).
Alterations or repairs to a fire service or inside service
which in the opinion of the Water Authority are of a
minor nature, or the rewashering of a tap, may be carried
out by a person other than a licensed plumber.
