Emergency Water Suspension Notices and Enquiries

Please be informed that water supply to the following areas will be suspended during the period as mentioned. Please also note that supply may be restored earlier than scheduled without further notice as soon as works are completed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. 1.	Type of Supply	:	Fresh and Flushing Water
	Time	:	From 22:00 hrs. on 19 Aug 2008 to 06:00 hrs. on 20 Aug 2008
	Affected Areas	:	The Peak District -
			The suspension will affect the area / buildings as follow. Barker Road Nos. 6, 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 22-23, 27-28, 31, 35, 37, 41, 43, 47, 51; Severn Road Nos. 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 19, 20, 23, 26, 28; Severn Hill; Gough Hill Path Nos. 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 18, 19, 24, 28; Pollock's Path No. 12; Peak Road Nos. 71, 81-98, 99; Peel Rise Nos. 6-16; Bluff Path No. 6, 10.
	Reason for Suspension	:	To allow for carrying out the connection works to existing fresh water mains in Pollock's Path.

2.	Type of Supply	:	Flushing Water
	Time	:	From 20:00 hr. on 16 Aug 2008 to 04:00 hr. on 17 Aug 2008
	Affected Areas	:	To Kwa Wan and Hung Hom Districts -
			The suspension will affect To Kwa Wan and Hung Hom Districts. (Please see attached map)
	Reason for Suspension	:	Repair work on water mains to be carried out

In order to reduce the supply interruption raising from the leaks and bursts of aged water mains, WSD has launched a comprehensive and systemic programme since December 2000 to replace or rehabilitate about 3,000 kilometres of aged water mains. Notes :

This notice covers only major planned temporary suspensions of water supply which will affect large area.
Direct notice will be given to the affected premises for other planned suspensions of water supply.
For those water suspensions due to emergency situation (e.g. main burst), announcement will be made through radio broadcast, TV, the press media and Emergency Water Suspension Notices webpage.
