Southern District Council Visits Sha Tin Water Treatment Works

Sha Tin Water Treatment Works, the largest water treatment works in Hong Kong in terms of daily output capacity, supplies treated water to Sha Tin, Central Kowloon and part of Hong Kong Island (including the Southern District). WSD invited the Southern Council to visit Sha Tin Water Treatment Works on 20 October 2017 and to understand operational details of the Water Treatment Works. At WSD’s invitation, Southern District Council Chairman Chu Ching-hong and District Officer (Southern) of the Home Affairs Department Dorothy Ma led a party of Southern District Councillors and Home Affairs Department staff to visit the Water Treatment Works to gain knowledge about the involved water treatment process and water quality monitoring measures, as well as to discuss about water supplies with the Director of Water Supplies Enoch Lam and WSD staff.
