Butterfly Valley Fresh Water Primary Service Reservoir Extension Commissioning Ceremony cum Cherish Water Go Green Fun Fair

WSD held the “Butterfly Valley Fresh Water Primary Service Reservoir Extension Commissioning Ceremony cum Cherish Water Go Green Fun Fair” on 4 November 2017 to celebrate the completion and commissioning of the Service Reservoir’s extension as well as to promote water conservation and the adoption of green lifestyles.

The extension of the Service Reservoir is part of the Tai Po Water Treatment Works. The storage of the service reservoir has now tripled to 120,000 cubic metres; upon the scheduled completion of the Water Treatment Works’ extension in about 2018, it will facilitate the expansion of its coverage of Tai Po and Central Kowloon to include West Kowloon as well as Central and Western District of Hong Kong Island.

The Cherish Water Go Green Fun Fair was held on the same day. Winning students of the “Cherish Water Campus” Integrated Education Programme were invited to participate in a tree planting activity and a greening workshop to experience green living.
