“Cherish Water Campus” Award Ceremony

The Cherish Water Campus Integrated Education Programme was rolled out in the 2015/16 school year. Over 170 primary schools have joined the programme. Award-winning schools were invited to attend the award ceremony held at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 18 November 2016 (Friday).

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of Water Supplies, Mr Enoch Lam shared water saving tips. He encouraged students to spread the messages of water conservation to their families and friends. Some of the award-winning teachers and students shared their feelings and experience gained from the programme at the ceremony.

The “Cherish Water Campus” Award Ceremony was held during “Water Conservation Week 2016”. The ceremony initiated a rich variety of programme. Apart from award presentation, the organiser also disseminated water conservation messages to the audiences through a drama performance. All participates were excited in watching drama and had a memorable afternoon.

The Cherish Water Campus Integrated Education Programme aims to enhance students' knowledge about water conservation and the global water situation, and encourages them to adopt water-saving practices at school and at home, as well as to spread the water-saving message to their peers, families and the community. The four-part teaching kit and the activity tool set cover activities and games that are suitable for Primary One to Six students. Details are available on the WSD's website (www.wsd.gov.hk/iep).

Other guests at the ceremony included Principal Assistant Secretary (Curriculum Development) of Education Bureau, Mr. LEE Sha Lun, Sheridan, Principal Education Office (School Administration) of Education Bureau, Ms. SO Yuen Yi, Chairman of Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council, Mr. LAM Yat Fung and the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Water Resources and Quality of Water Supplies, Dr Chan Hon-fai, and representatives from school sponsoring bodies and primary schools.
