- A sample application letter
- The size of the portable meter imposes certain restriction on the permissible flow through the meter,
depending on the type of meter employed. For reference purpose, though it must be stressed that changes may occur from time to time,
applications with an estimated demand in excess of 2.73 m3/hr per meter will not be entertained due to such restriction.
- All applications should be submitted in the form of a letter enclosing the following documents and information :-
| (i) |
The duly completed Form WWO 542 : Application for Water Supply / Request for Work to be carried out by the Water Authority; |
| (ii) |
The number of portable meters and the duration applied for, with estimated daily consumption for each portable meter; |
| (iii) |
The name and telephone number of the contact person directly connected with the actual use of the portable meters; |
| (iv) |
A written agreement accepting the conditions governing the use of portable meters; |
| (v) |
For government contract / job or public utility undertakers' project :- |

(a) |
Contract title and contract period; |
|
(b) |
A statement of support of application from the Government Department / public utility undertaker employing the applicant indicating : |
|
|
i) The Department / public utility undertaker has analysed and found that the number of portable meters applied for is justified; |
|
|
ii) The Department / public utility undertaker will ensure that the applicant will comply with the Water Authority's conditions of approval. |
|
For works other than government contract / job or public utility undertaker project :- |
|
(a) |
Documentary evidence that the applicant is a contractor on one of the following lists : |
|
|
i) List of Approved Contractors for Public Works; |
|
|
ii) List of Approved Suppliers of Materials and Specialist Contractors for Public Works (ground investigation field work or landslip preventive / remedial works to slopes / retaining walls category); |
|
|
iii) List of Registered Specialist Contractors (ground investigation field works category) under the Buildings Ordinance. |
|
(b) |
Job records of private ground investigation / slope works with supporting documents on the jobs in hand and/or any jobs carried out or completed in the previous 6 months. |
