The WSD Customer Liaison Group
(CLG) was formed in July 1993. As an utility committed
to providing high quality, reliable, efficient and cost
effective service to the public, we are always ready
to listen to comments and suggestions from our customers.
The CLG was formed with the objective of providing a
regular venue for better communication with our customers
on their needs and their expectation of standard of
service that we provide, and to solicit suggestions
and comments for improving the quality of our service.
The Group hold its meetings at regular
interval during which many constructive views and suggestions
were put forward by the members. We will look at these
views and suggestions seriously with a view to further
enhancing the quality of our service where practicable.
The meeting also gave us an opportunity to explain to
our customers face to face different facets of the various
services that we provide. In future, we also intend
to arrange visits for the members to see our installations
and facilities such as treatment works and meter repair
workshops so that they can have a better insight into
our activities. News on the CLG will be published in

The Group is chaired by the Deputy
Director of Water Supplies and comprises thirty members
who are randomly selected from the computerized database
of water consumer accounts or appointed by his/her organization.
Eighteen of them were selected from registered domestic consumers
of different geographic areas, while seven members
from different trades out of some 6,000 monthly-billed
registered trade consumers and five guest members
from Estate Management Advisory Committees of Housing Department,
Hong Kong Housing Society, management offices of private estates
and Government Property Agency. Meetings will be held
every four months. Members may opt to serve a term of
1 or 2 years while under normal circumstances no member
is expected to serve two consecutive terms while the
guest members invited to attend the meeting on an ad
hoc basis. Vacant memberships is to be filled according
to the same selection process mentioned above.
Staff from different Branches and
Divisions of WSD are co-opted by the Chairman to attend
the meetings from time to time in order to brief the
members on specific topics of interest.
