In support of the five-day week initiative in the Government, the Water Supplies Department has adopted a phased approach to ensure that the public continue to enjoy quality service and a smooth service delivery.  Phase 1 of our five-day week scheme started on 1 July 2006. With the implementation of Phase 2 from 1 January 2007, all five Customer Enquiry Centres and our Meter Testing Laboratory will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays but their service hours on weekdays will be extended.

We will continue to provide the 24-hour Customer Enquiry Hotline. The service hours of the operator service for billing and consumership matters provided by the Customer Telephone Enquiry Centre will be extended.

Our essential and emergency services including operation of water treatment works and pumping stations, attendance to water supply fault complaints and emergency works will continue to be provided round-the-clock. The operating hours of water selling kiosks will remain unchanged.

The operating hours of the services provided by the Department with effect from 1 January 2007 are detailed in the table below.
