How to apply for issue of a new Grade I plumber's licence ?

The applicant who holds the following 2 parts of qualifications may apply for a new Grade I plumber's licence:

Part I:

A Craft Certificate in Plumbing and Pipefitting issued by the Vocational Training Council after 1987, the issue date of which is within 5 years and 3 months before the date of application; or an equivalent qualification.

Part II:

A Certificate in Plumbing Services (Hong Kong) issued by the Vocational Training Council, the issue date of which is within 5 years before the date of application or an equivalent qualification.

The applicant must attend in person at Wan Chai or Mong Kok Customer Enquiry Centre bringing along with:

  • duly completed, signed on and submit Waterworks form WWO 495PDF. ;
  • Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Passport,
  • the original and a photocopy of the qualifications for Part I and Part II as above,
  • Government ID or employment letter or pay slip if civil servant is declared,
  • 2 recent photos (size 25mm (1") W x 38mm (1-1/2") H), one of which is securely fixed on the WWO 495PDF. ,

and paying in licence fee of $81 at the Gloucester Road Post Office, 1/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road for application submitted at Wan Chai Customer Enquiry Centre and at the collection counter of Mong Kok Customer Enquiry Centre.

Issue of new Grade II plumbers' licence has been ceased since 2 October 1993.

How to renew a Grade I or II plumber's licence ?

Starting October of the year, licensee can renew his/her licence (Grade I or II) for the next year if:

  • the licence has not been expired for 5 or more years, and
  • the licence is not under suspension or has not been cancelled.

The licensee must attend in person at Wan Chai or Mong Kok Customer Enquiry Centre bringing along with:

  • the plumber licence,
  • Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Passport,
  • 1 recent photo (size 25mm (1") W x 38mm (1-1/2") H),

and paying in licence fee of $64 at the Gloucester Road Post Office, 1/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road for application submitted at Wan Chai Customer Enquiry Centre and at the collection counter of Mong Kok Customer Enquiry Centre.

Apart from application in person, the licensee can also apply for renewal or re-issue of a Plumber's Licence by means of Electronic Services.

Note: No invitation letter will be sent to the licensed plumbers for renewal of their plumbers' licence.

How to apply for re-issue of a plumber's licence ?

The licensee can apply for re-issue of his/her plumber's licence if there is:

  • a lose of the plumber's licence, or
  • a change of civil servant status.

and if

  • the licence has not been expired for 5 or more years, and
  • the licence is not under suspension or has not been cancelled.

The applicant reports the lost of licence to Hong Kong Police Force and obtains a Police Report No.

The licensee must attend in person at Wan Chai or Mong Kok Customer Enquiry Centre bringing along with:

  • duly completed and signed on and submit form "Application for Renewal/Re-issue of a Plumber's Licence" PDF.,
  • the plumber licence, if it is not a case of lose,
  • Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card or Passport,
  • Government ID or employment letter or pay slip if civil servant is declared,
  • 1 recent photo (size 25mm (1") W x 38mm (1-1/2") H),

and paying in licence fee of $64 at the Gloucester Road Post Office, 1/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road for application submitted at Wan Chai Customer Enquiry Centre and at the collection counter of Mong Kok Customer Enquiry Centre.

Apart from application in person, the licensee can also apply for renewal or re-issue of a Plumber's Licence by means of Electronic Services.

How to apply for a change of particulars related to plumber's licence ?

The licensee must complete a form "Application for Change of Particulars of a Licensed Plumber" PDF. and send in the form by mail or by fax. If the licensee is not interested to publish his/her business telephone on the Licensed Plumber Directory at WSD Internet Homepage, just leave blank in the business phone entry.
